Nga Kor Ming urges voters to back Pakatan Harapan in PRU16 to sustain anti-corruption push, supports UM student stance

IPOH, Oct 19 — Perak DAP Chairman Nga Kor Ming has called on the public to grant Pakatan Harapan (PH) a renewed mandate in the 16th General Election (PRU16) to ensure the government’s anti-corruption drive and institutional reforms remain uninterrupted.

In a video statement uploaded to his official TikTok account today, Nga highlighted the MADANI administration’s enforcement achievements, stating that law enforcement agencies have recovered approximately RM15.5 billion lost to corruption, leakage, and illegal activities.

Nga stressed that sustained political willpower is required to pursue legal action against entities involved in the misappropriation of public funds, referencing historical scandals involving Tabung Haji, Felda, and UiTM Holdings.

“I urge the public to give a renewed mandate to Pakatan Harapan in PRU16 so that efforts to combat corruption and abuse of power can continue,” Nga stated. “The MADANI government has succeeded in recovering RM15.5 billion through strict enforcement against corruption and financial leakages.”

Support for Universiti Malaya students

During his address, Nga expressed explicit support for Universiti Malaya (UM) students who publicly opposed a recent fundraising drive organized on behalf of a former prime minister.

Welcoming UM’s decision not to penalize the involved students, Nga commended the youth for voicing public sentiment regarding accountability and ethical leadership.

“I warmly welcome the decision by Universiti Malaya not to penalize the UM students who successfully voiced the people’s aspirations,” Nga remarked. “This is a clash of values. What message do we want to send to our future generations if society rewards corruption instead of treating it as a crime?”

Targeting opposition scandals

Nga further pointed out that major financial mismanagement cases involving state-linked agencies were not associated with DAP or PH, but occurred under previous administrations led by opposition coalitions.

“Those who looted Tabung Haji, Felda, and UiTM Holdings were not from DAP,” Nga said. “These abuses were committed under the leadership of the blue and green political alliances.”

He concluded by reiterating that strengthening DAP and Pakatan Harapan’s political foundation ahead of PRU16 remains crucial to protecting public assets and driving national progress.
